Supporting BBVA's Digital Expansion: Design Solutions for a New Era

BBVA is a global financial services group serving over 75.5 million customers across 25+ countries and is Mexico’s largest financial institution. In the United States, BBVA provides investment, transactional, and capital markets banking, along with personalized financial guidance to help customers improve their financial health.

With BBVA’s ambitious U.S. digital sales goals for 2020 and the launch of several new online account-opening options, demand for digital production support surged. I assisted by managing overflow from their in-house team, handling digital art creation, stock image curation, and producing static and animated ad banners, along with some copywriting. This all took place during a brand update, so I also converted existing designs to align with the new look and feel.

BBVA's New Brand

Shaping the Age of Opportunity

The new graphic element, the lightstream, was designed to evoke how BBVA wanted its customers to feel as they step into the age of opportunities. Beyond crafting a distinct visual identity, it serves as an emotional anchor, creating a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere.

Similarly the photo style was inspired by the Golden Hour: those first few minutes of dawn when everything is touched by fresh light, marking the start of a new day full of possibilities for everyone.
